This past week Barrett has discovered his hands! He is constantly moving his arms around and putting his hands in his mouth. He also has been swatting at his toys on his playmat. Barrett even reached out and grabbed the links while playing last night. It was funny watching him hanging on the ring as he didn't know how to let go!

2 Months
Barrett was two months on New Year's Eve. We saw the pediatrician for his checkup and she said everything looked great and he is meeting all his developmental milestones. Barrett is following Travis and I more with his eyes and seems to recognize our voices. He is able to hold his head up more, and the most fun is the smiling and cooing. Here are his two month stats:
Weight: 9 lbs. 12 oz. (finally made it onto the growth chart!)
Length: 20.75 in.
Head Circumference: 39 cm.

Sweet Dreams
Barrett has been a great sleeper since we started him on a schedule and moved him into his nursery at three weeks. He has been sleeping peacefully in his Rock n Play sleeper, which allows babies to sleep cozied up at an incline. Now with one month of maternity leave left and Barrett having to sleep flat in a pack n play while with the nanny, mommy decided it was time to transfer Barrett into his big boy crib. Barrett has not been the biggest fan of laying flat on his back, so I started slow with him spending time on his back on the play mat. Then we moved up to spending five minutes of awake time in his crib. Finally, I tried nap time and success! He slept a full nap time on his back in the crib! Now we just have to make it to more naps and eventually night time.

Travis' Birthday
We celebrated Travis' birthday on Sunday with a yummy lunch prepared by Uncle Jeff and Aunt Michelle. It was so nice to not have to fight the crowds at a restaurant, and be able to have fun with the family. Everyone passed around the babies and enjoyed the day together. Travis and I will celebrate next weekend with dinner out while Barrett stays at home with a non-family babysitter for the first time. Keep your fingers crossed this mommy is able to make it out of the house without a few tears shed!

More Cousin Time!
Barrett finally got to meet is Uncle Gabe, Aunt Liz, and cousin William the weekend after Christmas. Gabe, Liz, and William stayed with us on their way back to Houston from Tyler for the holidays. The grown up boys got in a game of tennis while the mommies stayed at home with their napping boys. when the boys got done with their game, they spoiled us by cooking a delicious steak dinner! I can't wait until Barrett can laugh along with his adorable cousin William!

Rub a Dub Dub!
We started a nightly routine of bath time before bed. Barrett wasn't the biggest fan at first, but now he enjoys it. I can't wait for the day he splashes in the tub with all his bath toys!
