Visit to Austin

We went to Austin this weekend to visit the Powells and Doerrs.  After a rocky start in the car (Barrett got sick twice), we had such a fun time!  It is so much fun to see all the boys together.  Barrett and Charlie were starting to interact with each other, but Miles is definitely going to be the leader of the pack!

Barrett also had his first swim in the pool.  I couldn't tell if the water was too cold or that he is just a little bit fussy in the afternoon, but Barrett was not the biggest fan.  Hopefully with a little more exposure Barrett will be a little water baby by the end of the summer!

My First Mother's Day

Last Mother's Day our little one was just a little peanut inside my belly.  So this was my first official Mother's Day as a mommy to Barrett.  I felt like I had earned a mommy merit badge the week before taking care of a very sick kiddo.  Barrett had croup and was miserable all week long.  Thankfully he made a full recovery by Sunday just in time to celebrate with the family.

The mommies went and got mani-pedis while the daddies took care of all the little ones.  After we were fully pampered and relaxed, we had a wonderful lunch at Jeff and Michelle's house.  It was such a nice day to be celebrated!

Success!

Barrett has been rolling from his tummy to back for a while now.  I have been waiting in anticipation for him to roll from back to tummy.  He has come close so many times.  I always felt that he could do it, but just choosing not to since he hates to be on his tummy!

Well today it happened!  We were playing on his play mat and I looked away at the tv for a minute.  When I looked back Barrett was on his tummy.  I couldn't believe I missed it!!  Thankfully he did it again, and this time I was ready with my camera!

Half a Year

These past six months have flown by!  Barrett has changed so much this month along with hitting some very important milestones.

6 month stats:

• Height: 26.25 inches (32nd percentile)
• Weight: 16 pounds 6 ounces (25th percentile, up from the 3rd percentile)
• Head Circumference: 44 centimeters (69th percentile)

Milestones:

• Eating and loving all pureed foods
• Two bottom teeth in and top two teeth erupting
• Sitting up while supported
• Reaching and grabbing
• Sleeping through the night consistently!!!!!!

Keep up the good work buddy.  What will you surprise us with next?
